StambeccoAt the shelter it is possible to meet all species of animals that lives in the mountains. The most common (ibex, chamois, marmot) are easily seen almost everyday. Going up trough the wood during not crowded days it is also possible to see deers and row deers. During 2009's summer a family of ermine has made his den at 5 metres from the shelter making children happy to see them moving around their legs. The eagle too is frequently seen from the shelter. Seeing a lammergeyer is becoming more frequent every year, even if it is still sporadic. The partridges in the late spring come over Crête Sèche hill but is not easy to see them. Normally, the best moment to see animals is early in the morning or in the evening: to see them, silence is important!
